Licenses ($20,000, about; some fees increased). Fines

show a decrease of $3,000, Stamps of $10,000. (Each of

the latter items, however, shows a substantial increase

on 1899.)

Fees of Court are down $6,000;

fice shows an increas or $30,000. The Rent of Govern-

ment Property is estimated to increase $173,000. To

this increase Land Leases contribute $31,000, several

land sales being expected; and the Land Revenue from

the New Territory, for which only a nominal figure was

put down last year, is credited with $140,000.

There is a new Head Interest $5,000. No

explanation is given ? Ask.

The Water Account is expected to yield

$13,000 more (new assessment).

Land Sales will be $364,600 less than the

probable return this year, and $217,800 less than in

1899.
